Jo Daviess County Country Fair Charities Awards Grants

Thirty Jo Daviess County not-for-profit organizations received more than $37,000 in grants at the 145th annual Jo Daviess County Country Fair Charities, Inc., grant presentation. Jo Daviess County Country Fair Charities is a completely volunteer not-for-profit organization with its main goal to facilitate and assist charitable causes throughout Jo Daviess County.

The money used to fund this year’s grants was made available from the proceeds of the 2017 Galena Country Fair. In addition to the grant monies distributed, donations were given to churches and organizations who supplied workers for the 2017 fair, the City of Galena , the Galena Area EMS , and the Galena Police Department .

The 2018 Galena Country Fair will be held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6 and 7, in Galena’s Grant Park. The fair features over 150 artists and artisans offering original and handcrafted work. In addition, the fair includes a farmer’s market, children’s corner featuring games and prizes, numerous raffle prizes, a wide variety of food and beverages and live musical entertainment both days.
