GALENA, IL—This week, 7 food pantries and 5 ambulance service organizations in Jo Daviess County collectively received cash donations totaling $15,500.00 from Jo Daviess County Country Fair Charities, Inc., (JDCCFC) a not-for-profit organization with a mission to facilitate and assist charitable causes throughout Jo Daviess County. The donations were funded from proceeds raised by the annual Galena Country Fair event held annually on Columbus Day weekend at Grant Park in Galena.
Chuck Jackson, JDCCFC president shared, "Like others in our communities, we were looking for ways to support the important services offered by our local food pantries and ambulance organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic. The donations to our local pantries will help purchase food and supplies and hopefully ease the burden on county residents during this challenging time. We're grateful for the work being done by our local ambulance services and volunteers. This donation is intended to aid with the purchase of important PPE supplies, which will support our responders' efforts to safely deal with emergency calls."
